Our neighbor Mr. Tinsley, of cow photo fame here on TB, has been raising cattle on the family farm since a boy. The youngest of the second generation, he’s in his 80’s. Across from he and his wife Martha’s home, sits the slaughterhouse which provided meat to area butchers for the county. While sitting idle for years, the equipment still stands at the ready with some intermittent upkeep from Mr. Tinsley. Today he’s emptying rainwater from vats used to boil the skin off hogs. The hooks are best left to the imagination. Old habits are hard to break.
