Lazy Days

DSC_2078Ask host Jimmy Lamb, after he’s done sweeping the office porch, where the bridge came from that gets the visitor from NC 215 into Lazy J Campground.  Then take a good look around and rest your eyes on the open field where a full-sized and two miniature horses keep the grass mowed.  A swing and sitting area give a chance to take in the expanse, that includes a garden and chicken coop backed by mountains and the rush of the river right behind you.   “Those are working chickens,” chuckles Jimmy.  They do the clean-up duty around the campground which is shady and clean…..as are the spacious washrooms!  Grab your tube and jump in the river and go for a ride.  Catch a few wild trout out of the stream for dinner and then visit with your neighbors.  Jimmy says that after folks have been there a time or two “we’re friends.”  Enjoy!
